About:
My name is Jacob Krehbiel. I see filmmaking as the greatest art form of all time, where movement and life are captured and reality is manipulated to make something truly amazing. I'm someone who likes to see film through the eyes of the director, forming a symbiotic relationship where I simply allow myself to be swept up in their vision and try to understand what they are trying to say. You can think of me as both an audience member and a critic.

There has been somewhat of a binary created to distinguish two types of film goers; the casual, stupid audience and the pretentious, highly analytical critics. People think of audience members as the people who sit down, munch on their popcorn, and watch the movie, paying no attention to what they see and they think of critics as snobs who dissect a film in the most cynical and snootiest way possible, taking the experience of seeing a film for granted. This website is meant to combine these two states of mind and show they they do not have to be oposed to one another.
I mostly chose to write as a blog simply because I don't have the equipment (or the balls to combat copyright laws) to make video reviews. However, I also think there's something poetic about dissecting films through text and letting the film speak for itself, unedited and uninterrupted.
